Brazilian street artist Tinho is credited as being one of the pioneers of Brazilian graffiti, a genre that is widely acknowledged as one of the most original and authentic roots of the new graffiti movement.
His punk and skate culture background has influenced his work, which focuses on human nature expressed through the realism of Sao Paulo's streets and fantasy worlds that highlight the human condition. His characters are both heartbreakingly vulnerable and strong in spirit, his tableaus bringing social issues sharply into focus.
While continuing to paint on the street, Tinho has a huge international collectors following and has exhibited in solo and group shows worldwide, including a public exhibition at the Embassy of Brazil in London at their invitation in May 2008.
