Lee Baker's beautiful work is the result of a fascination with Japanese art and its ability to simultaneously influence and absorb western culture. Baker similarly absorbs and interprets influences through which he distils his own unique style, these influences including Hiroshige, Jakachu, Murakami, Akira, manga, and Japanese woodblock printing, as well as western influences of Pop Art and British engraving.
Baker has been painting since the age of 16, going on to study fine art and pursue a career in as an exceptionally talented commercial artist with prestigous organisations such as the English National Opera and the National Theatre. He now focuses on his stunning painting and print-making, his work in high demand and recently enjoying acclaim with his successful solo show, Toku Chan Looks Up.
